John Donegan (b.1994, San Diego, California) is a photographer and journalist based in New York. He graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in psychology before joining RVA Magazine, a publication based in Richmond, Va. It is here that his passion for storytelling and narratives began. Since then, he has covered news and human interest in the VA/DC region. The guiding principle: Tell the story of those who cannot tell it themselves.
Coverage experience includes local politics, education, conflict zones, courts, social justice and climate change. Copy ranges from hard news to long form and photo spreads. Confident under deadline.
